27JAN – HARRY’S X PICNIC 1ST BIRTHDAY
Just over one year ago we called on friends Picnic Touring & Events to curate our weekend music and slowly we turned Harpoon Harry into Harry’s and have set out to program some of the best music in Sydney week in, week out – and usually for free!
From our regulars, interstate and overseas guest DJs to everyone who’s come and shared some sweaty dances, ciggas and hopefully one too many drinks it’s all been a bit of a treat and a lot of fun! So we thought, since we clearly love any excuse to party, we’d bring together a few of our favourites and a very special guest who’s always alluded us!
The one and only….
He’s earned epic acclaim for his unpredictable take on electronica, Andras blend of 90s underground house, soundtrack and ambient music across a string of popular releases and is one of the best DJs this country has!
His knowledge and comfortability as a producer has seen him seamlessly trade places with other aliases over the years. In 2014 he released the ambient/experimental album ‘Overworld’ under the name a.r.t Wilson, and late last year a left-field house album titled ‘H.O.D’ under a newer incognito House of Dad.
When he’s not producing new material, you’ll find him hosting Strange Holiday on Melbourne’s Triple R 102.7fm where he champions a diverse mix of primitive rhythms, weird disco, outsider music and other Australian rarities.
The last few years have been big for Andras. He now has three Boiler Room sets under his belt, a stacked overseas touring schedule and with the launch of his club orientated label ‘Punp Records’, it’s fair to say he isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
Another man who shows zero signs of slowing down is Simon Caldwell, he’ll be joined by Picnic’s Kali and a favourite of both their’s, Adi Toohey, on the ground floor! We’ll be bringing in extra production and running like we do for our House Parties!
In the Lounge: Sydney Pony Club, Freda & Jackson ( Moonshoe) and Mike Who b2b Setwun will have you wearing out our beloved carpet!
AND THANK YOU, IT’S BEEN REALLY REAL!
