For our second out of three weeks of Thursday Nite Live we’ve entrusted our friends at Network Connection Records with the bookings! And what a stellar job they’ve done, bookings two of our favourite producers to play live and some of our favourite girls to DJ too!

Fabrics (live)

A humble under-the-radar sonic explorer who has quietly amassed an impressive portfolio of highly polished live recordings and performances that show maturity well beyond his years. Fabrics creations inhabit a unique sort of Hi Fi / Sci Fi realm, crafted with stunning depth and sound design and imbued with an irresistible tint of nostalgia. Powerful, vivd and emotional. Think a Boards of Canada commissioned Blade Runner soundtrack and you’re getting close.

Thomas Gray (live)

Holds the very honourable title of inaugural releasing artist to grace the catalog of up and coming local label Black Wattle Records. Thomas and Black Wattle grabbed our attention with two hands after a cold call in at our store with a pile of said inaugural release. We’re not normally all too keen on cold calls, but a first listen promptly had us blown away and chalking up as many copies as we could afford right there and then. Thom’s cerebral and meditative approach to sound makes his creations equally at home on the dance floor or in the living room, with a strong sense of groove paired with unparalleled delicacy of construction… and we hear he’s a pretty fierce live performer too.

Natalia (DJ)

At Network connection we have a vested interest in supporting local music and community, so it made perfect sense to us to invite one of our fair city’s biggest exponents and general carriers of the local music torch to share some of her selections for this special event. Each Thursday Natalia carries that torch high on her Fbi Radio show “The Bridge”, playing a selection of %100 local goods week in / week out with style and clout. Actually one of the smoothest operators we’ve had the pleasure of watching in recent times, her skill at the controls makes her in our opinion one of our city’s most wildly underrated Dj’s. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for her involvement in the newly formed NECTAR… tip!

Nat James (DJ)

Not just our resident Network Connection representative but a sublimely talented spinner in her own right. With inimitable style and and ever growing list of credentials, the Network Connection ship couldn’t possibly be in safer hands than those of Nat James.
