NOV 10 – Harry’s: Network Connection Records Presents

This Friday we’ve invited one of our favourite wax dealers to showcase some local talent! Network Connection Records have been a bountiful source of great music from all ends of the spectrum since their opening early last year. It’s an absolute pleasure to have the store for a very special takeover at Harpoon Harry!

Angus Mills

Angus is a relatively recent discovery of ours and is in our opinion perhaps one of the most under-utilised Jocs in Sydney. His skills are sharp and his unique vision ensures just about the only thing you’ll predictably get from him is quality. This fact alone means he’s fast becoming one of our most trusted selectors; but just to boot he’s also one of the loveliest, smiliest guys you’ll ever meet and rocks probably the freshest haircut in the Sydney Metropolitan area; and with a debut release through Melbourne label Local Traffic earlier this year, he’s proved that he know’s not just how to spin records, but how to make ’em too.

Dr. Merph

Who is Dr. Merph? Well, you’ll just have to come to the do to find out!

We’ve known Merph to dabble in the dark arts since the early days of Network Connection (it’s still early days really but it sounds more dramatic this way). We don’t know much of what she cooks up behind closed doors but what we can tell you is that as one of our most consistent customers, we’ve come to recognise Merph as a rare individual, who’s genuine passion and fine selections were consistently so intriguing we just couldn’t resist asking her to share what she’s been getting up to.

J.Leenaars

To oversee proceedings, warm the dance and dispel general discomfort; expert clerk J.Leenaars will assert some of his finest waxwork. As the founder of Network Connection Records, he is a community focused dance instructor with an ear for every sound and the touch to spin those records ’round…

NOV 11 – Harry’s: w/ Natalia, Steven Sullivan & Is That Fair?

Holy moly! Another killer lineup at Harry’s this Sturday! Natalia of Spin The Bottle fame, Steven Sullivan from the Chubby crew and Is That Fair? from Bondi Beach Radio…

+ + + +

Natalia

Co-host on FBi’s long-running Saturday night show, Spin The Bottle, Natalia is a selector that has her finger on the pulse. This lady has a love for acidic basslines and soulful grooves, making her sets machine driven with a human heart. Natalia’s sets can range from fun-loving house and disco, right through to deep end acid. A skilled selector with the energy to match, Natalia will move you!

+ + + +

Steven Sullivan

House music is second nature to this weapon of a DJ – Sullo’s collection of house and disco is overwhelming. As one of the founding fathers of Chubby, his enthusiasm and passion for the sound can be heard throughout his own DJ sets, which span from the glory days of NYC and Chicago right through to contemporary grooves from local artists and abroad. We can’t wait to hear Steven throw down some fire this Saturday!

Is That Fair?

Tom and Rhys are a dynamite duo that have no time for unfair play. Their regular local parties are always a jam, with the profits going towards Sydney based arts charities. What legends! Is That Fair? sport eclectic stylings of house, soul and Balearic sounds are always a treat for the senses, which can be heard on their very own Bondi Beach Radio show. Expert diggers and dance floor enthusiasts – these fellas know just what it takes to hold a crowd in the palm of their hand, and feed them too!
